FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence LadyCats came out aggressive Thursday night in Florence, using a defensive attack led by Kelsi Chrisman and Naomi Millan to pressure Niagara into multiple turnovers.
The result was a 55-36 non-conference girls basketball win, improving Florence’s record to 2-0.
On the offensive end, Cece Mills was on fire from long range, draining four three-pointers in the opening half. Senior Ashley Peterson provided a strong presence, adding nine first-half points to help the LadyCats take a 33-21 lead into the break.
Florence didn’t slow down in the second half, holding the Badgers to just 15 points. Mills and Peterson led the LadyCats with 19 and 17 points, respectively.
Millan contributed eight points, Miley VanDenHeuvel added six, and Chrisman chipped in five.
