England skipper Ben Stokes has admitted that his team has been left a bit shellshocked after Travis Head launched a massive attack on them to take Australia to an eight-wicket win in the first Ashes Test, adding that the innings from the marauding Aussie was ‘phenomenal’.
Chasing 205, Head blasted a commanding 123 as the hosts cruised to an eight-wicket victory over arch-rivals England on day two, setting the tone for the five-match series.
Star batter Marnus Labuschagne remained unbeaten on 51, with Steve Smith not out on 2.
Head’s heroics came on the back of a blistering spell from marauding pace pair Scott Boland and Mitchell Starc after lunch that sparked a brilliant England collapse.
