Fairytale of New York singer Kirsty MacColl’s son has spoken bout the moment he saw his mum killed in a horrific speedboat crash – 25 years on from the tragedy. ‌

Louis Lillywhite was just 14 when the beloved singer died the week before Christmas in 2000 after being struck by a speedboat while surfacing from a scuba dive in Mexico. ‌

Kirsty, 41, was in the water with Louis and his older brother Jamie when the vessel entered a protected zone and ploughed into them. Jamie escaped with min or injuries, but Kirsty died instantly. ‌
