Music fans were so excited about having a Third Man Records store opening in Detroit’s Cass Corridor 10 years ago this week that they pitched tents on the sidewalk outside on Thanksgiving night to be among the first inside on that Black Friday morning.

A decade later — with a vinyl record pressing plant and recording and mastering studios on the premises — Third Man still feeds on that enthusiasm.
