A man has been jailed for life for the 'senseless' murder of a supposed friend in a sustained drug-fuelled attack.
Craig Howse received the life sentenced with a minimum term of 20 years when he appeared at Newcastle Crown Court on Friday (November 21).
Michael Craig was found seriously injured by after emergency services at an address on Bolingbroke Street in Heaton, Newcastle, on the evening of Wednesday March 5.
He was taken to hospital, but despite the efforts of medics, the 31-year-old Newcastle man died a short time later.
Howse was soon arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The 38-year-old, of Bolingbroke Street, Newcastle, was later charged with Mr Craig's murder.
