CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police are investigating after one person was shot and killed in south Charlotte early Saturday morning, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Around 2 a.m., police were dispatched to the 4800 block of Wallingford Street near West Woodlawn Road. Upon arrival, officers said they located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police said this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the general public.
