Brutal stabbing pair drove past victim shouting 'is he dead yet?'

A man and woman have been jailed for a brutal stabbing before driving back past their victim and shouting 'is he dead yet?'

Tommy McTighe and Gemma Vanstone lured the man out of his home in March last year in a premeditated plan to attack him. He was then subjected to a savage beating with a foot long machete and a long metal bar were used on him.

The victim, in his 50s, was stabbed eight times but staggered a short distance before he collapsed. A passing taxi driver spotted him lying in the street covered in blood and alerted the emergency services.

The court heard a Mercedes being driven by McTighe and Vanstone was then seen driving past with one occupant shouting: ‘Is he dead yet?”

McTighe, 34, and Vanstone, 35, both from Plymouth, Devon, were convicted of Section 18 GBH
