LUVERNE, MINN. — Information revealed through The Vault’s investigative reporting on the 1984 murder of Kelly Jean Robinson is moving the case forward.

Rock County Sheriff Matt Sorenson told Forum News Service that his department, along with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, will be conducting a formal review of Robinson’s case.

Kelly’s case is at the heart of The Vault’s latest 3-part podcast series, “Who Killed Kelly?” , now available to binge-listen on all major podcast platforms.

Robinson’s body was found floating in a rural Rock County pond by a family of hikers on Memorial Day of 1984, roughly 30 miles away from her home in Sioux Falls.

Her case was labeled as a homicide.
