(Gray News) - A judge in Ohio has been suspended after locking up two boys because they refused to visit their estranged father.
The Supreme Court of Ohio found that Geauga County Probate-Juvenile Court Judge Timothy Grendell violated ethics rules.
The Court said that he incorrectly ordered two teenage boys to be held in a detention facility in an attempt to force them to visit their dad, which they refused, according to court documents.
The case happened in May 2020.
According to the complaint, Grendell ignored the boys’ own objections and even accused their older sister of trying to “sabotage” their relationship with their father.
The boys had reportedly told the court that their father had physically abused them in the past.
