What you need to know about this weekend's weather in the UK
The UK was hit with its first cold snap of the season this week, with temperatures tumbling to -12.6C in Tomintoul, Scotland - the coldest November night since 2010.
Saturday (November 22) morning turned grey and damp for many parts of the country, with cloud and rain spreading across Wales, Northern Ireland, the Midlands and Northern England. A band of showery rain is expected to push into Wales and southwest England, moving into the east-southeast throughout the day.
The forecast for Sunday (November 23) carries more uncertainty, but the Met Office says there is a potential for "strong and gusty" winds across Northern Ireland, parts of England and Wales.
