There's no need to wait until December to get into the holiday spirit when tradition comes alive at Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

Baltimore's annual German Christmas Village opened this weekend for a special preview.

The free festival in West Shore Park features more than 70 vendors , a new carousel, a Ferris wheel and a giant Christmas pyramid .

Visitors can warm up with a mug of Glühwein and freshly grilled Bratwurst, or enjoy a stein of German beer from Hofbrau.

The village is open Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon-8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from noon-9 p.m. It's open from noon-5 p.m. on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. It's closed the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and on Mondays and Tuesdays, except Dec. 22-23.
