Mother of cheerleader found dead on Carnival cruise learned that her daughter died after Googling it, reports say

(Gray News) - The mother of the cheerleader who was found dead on the Carnival cruise says she learned about her daughter’s death through Google.

Anna Kepner, 18, was found dead under a bed on a Caribbean cruise on Nov. 8. Law enforcement sources confirmed to ABC News and CBS News that a housekeeper found her wrapped in blankets.

Kepner was reportedly on a family vacation in the Caribbean with her father, stepmother and three stepsiblings.

The 18-year-old’s mother, Heather Wright, reportedly says she was not notified by authorities or family about her daughter’s death.

“I ended up Googling it, because the only information I had was that my daughter was on a cruise,” Wright said, per CNN .

Wright lives in Oklahoma, the outlet reported, and last saw her daughter a few years ago.
