A 13-year-old boy died in the hospital Friday after the electric dirt bike he was riding collided with a car in Stoneham.

The incident occurred on Oak Street at roughly 4:30 p.m. on Friday. According to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Stoneham Chief of Police James O’Connor, a 73-year-old driver in a Toyota Corolla was making a left turn from Oak Street onto Royal Street when the dirt bike struck the vehicle.

The teen was driven to Mass General Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities confirmed. The identity of the boy has not been released.
