HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii’s largest celebration of Kimchi is happening Saturday.

The event features a dozen food booths, entertainment, kimchi for sale, kids activities and even a make your own kimchi classes.

New to the festival is a Won Bok Throw Tournament, a Best Homemade kimchi contest and a Kimchi Pancake Eating Contest.

Kimchi is Korea’s beloved, time-honored dish made from fermented vegetables, usually napa cabbage, with a kick of spice.

It’s tangy, crunchy, and full of probiotics, making it a perfect balance of flavor and health benefits.

The event is The United Korean Association of Hawaii (TUKAH)

It is free and open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Makiki District Park.
