JACKSON COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — A 16-year-old is dead and a 17-year-old is seriously injured following an ATV crash in Jackson County on Friday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers were called on a report of an ATV crash on Antioch Road, located just outside the village of Oak Hill.
OSHP said the two juveniles were traveling in a Polaris Sportsman ATV when it went off the right side of the road over a steep embankment and hit a tree.
A 16-year-old boy from Londonderry died at the scene. A 17-year-old boy from Oak Hill was seriously injured.
According to OSHP, the crash happened before midnight on Friday and was not discovered until the early morning hours on Saturday by friends of the two boys.
Neither juvenile was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
