Edmonton homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a man who was found with “obvious injuries” Friday evening.

In a news release, the Edmonton Police Service says the man’s body was found around 8:50 p.m. by an EPS Community Safety Team on patrol near 97 Street and 107 Avenue, northeast of Downtown.

The release did not say whether the man was found outside or inside, but visible injuries on the body were deemed sufficient for the homicide unit to take over the investigation

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.

Police are asking for witnesses and anyone with surveillance video to come forward to help the investigation.
