The Irish-American designer best known for his work in British and Irish fashion and as the personal designer for the late Princess of Wales, Diana, has died at the age of 80.
The designer, Paul Costelloe died following a short illness, his family said in a statement on Saturday according to The Independent .
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Paul Costelloe following a short illness,” they said. “He was surrounded by his wife and seven children and passed peacefully in London.”
The designer was born in Dublin, Ireland, where his father ran a business creating raincoats, the BBC wrote.
After studying at the Grafton Academy of Fashion Design, he moved to Paris and took a course at the Chamber Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris.
