BATTLE CREEK, MI – A man was arrested in Battle Creek this weekend after allegedly threatening a woman with a rifle and assaulting her.
Officers were called to the scene of the incident after 3 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, following a report of a man holding an AR-15 rifle in the 20 th block of South 23 rd Street, according to a news release.
As officers made their way to the area, they were notified by dispatch that individuals were leaving the scene in a sports car.
Officers stopped the vehicle and determined that the occupants were not involved in the incident, police said.
After arriving at the scene, officers spoke with the suspect and the caller who reported the incident.
A woman told police the suspect threatened her with the weapon and pushed her face.
