First responders are credited with rescuing a horse that was buried up to its stomach in a muddy pond on a Bedminster farm.

Officials responded at 2 p.m. Thursday to a farm in the Cedar Ridge section of town after the horse became stuck in the mud, according to a police statement on social media.

Firefighters from the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department provided technical rescue assistance.

“Members of our department helped with the set up of the equipment and getting the horse ready for lifting.
