An investigation began during the early morning hours of Saturday after a couple of suspects fire their weapons at a car in Northridge, killing a woman.

Police said the shooting happened on Bryant Street near Tampa Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. when two men approached the vehicle and fire multiple rounds at the car.

One of the three people inside the car was struck by a bullet. She was taken to a hospital but was later declared dead, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Authorities believed the shooting was gang-related.

The LAPD's Valley Bureau Homicide is handling the investigation.
