CLOVIS, N.M. (KFDA) - The Clovis Police Department is searching for a shotgun after a man died from a gunshot wound on Friday night.
Just after 10 p.m. on Friday, Clovis Police Department dispatch received a 911 call. The caller reported that there was a man with a gunshot wound in their yard.
The Clovis Police Department, Clovis Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services were sent to the area of E 7th Street and Sheldon Street, where they found 37-year-old Raynaldo Joshua Enriquez suffering from a gunshot wound.
Enriquez was taken to an area hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.
After receiving information through interviews, officials learned that Enriquez had a shotgun. Officials say after accidentally shooting himself, Enriquez told witnesses to take the shotgun.
