Rumors were circulating on social media all day, thanks to eagle-eyed Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, and now the Chicago Bears have officially announced that starting linebacker Tremaine Edmunds was placed on injured reserve with a groin injury. Also heading to injured reserve is running back Roschon Johnson with a thumb injury.

Edmunds is in the midst of his best season as a Bear through 10 games with 89 tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, three QB hits, four interceptions, and nine passes defended, while allowing opposing quarterbacks just a 66.4 passer rating.

Johnson has played in seven games, mostly on special teams, and he has seven tackles and two rushes for 17 yards.

The earliest Edmunds and Johnson could return would be Week 16 for the second Packers game. Taking their
