PULLMAN, Wash. — A man accused of causing an explosion at his Pullman apartment has changed his plea to not guilty.

Elijah Reagan originally pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming he was too mentally disturbed at the time to understand what he was doing.

Authorities allege that Reagan fired a mortar inside his apartment unit, which caused a massive explosion. The blast reportedly blew a hole through the ceiling and ignited a fire, leading to significant damage.

The incident forced 30 people to evacuate from the apartment building. No injuries were reported.

Reagan's change of plea will likely impact legal proceedings as investigators continue to gather evidence in the case.
