BEMIDJI — It was starting to feel like the same song and dance.

The Bemidji State women’s hockey team surrendered four consecutive goals in the third period against No. 10 St. Cloud State. The Huskies were outshooting the Beavers 22-0 at one point. They erased a three-goal deficit at the Sanford Center and were en route to stealing a regulation win and a six-point sweep.

It’s a scenario that strikes a déjà vu-like feeling for the BSU faithful, especially playing in the WCHA. Ranked opponents have put their foot on the gas to close out wins in the third period against Bemidji State all season. It happened as recently as last Friday when second-ranked Minnesota scored four in the third to nab a 6-2 win.

But this time, the Beavers didn’t hear a bell, a lady singing or the final horn sound.
