On November 21, 2025, Jane Hamby Bass—a beloved matriarch, devoted Christian, and pillar of her community—was called home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 92. Born on New Year’s Eve in 1932 in Greenville, Georgia, to William Reginald Hamby and Opal Fuller Hamby, Jane lived a life defined by unwavering faith, selfless love, and dedicated service to her family and community. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Horace Bass; her son, Brent; her son-in-law, Boyd Pettite; her sister, Betty Loftin, and her husband, Leo; and her brother, Billy Hamby.
