IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - On the brink of a crushing defeat in the fourth quarter, Iowa fought back. Mark Gronowski’s clutch quarter and Drew Stevens’ game-winning kick gave Iowa a dramatic 20-17 victory over Michigan State in both of their final games at Kinnick Stadium.
Down by seven, Mark Gronowski led a five-play, 43 yard drive lasting one minute and eight seconds, and ending with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Gill.
Iowa’s offense looked lifeless for most of the game. The Hawkeyes had 142 offensive yards and zero points in the first three quarters.
Kaden Wetjen provided the early spark, with a record-breaking sixth career return touchdown. The senior’s 62-yard punt return touchdown broke Tim Dwight’s program record for career return touchdowns.
