Iowa football needed one more big play to have a chance at completing its comeback vs. Michigan State , and Reece Vander Zee delivered.
With the game tied 17-17 in the final minute of the fourth quarter and the Hawkeyes driving near midfield, Mark Gronowski put his trust in Vander Zee, who miraculously corralled a tough catch down the sideline.
Vander Zee didn't catch the contested pass cleanly. Instead, he maintained focus mid-air to secure the bobbled ball and fall in bounds, setting up Drew Stevens for the game-winning 44-yard field goal.
Iowa won the fourth quarter 13-0 to win the game 20-17, capping senior day in dramatic fashion for the Kinnick Stadium crowd.
