New Delhi: Several US senators have strongly criticised President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan for ending the Russia-Ukraine war, saying it clearly favours Russia for its aggression and pressure Ukraine into an unfair deal.

The 28-point plan, prepared by the Trump administration along with the Kremlin without involving Ukraine, accepts several key Russian demands, including Ukraine giving up large areas of its territory. Trump has said he wants Ukraine to agree to the plan by next week.

Speaking at the Halifax International Security Forum on Saturday, senators from both parties said that the proposal sends a dangerous message to the world.
