BLEDSOE COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is offering a reward for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible for illegally shooting and killing an elk in East Tennessee.

TWRA said it received reports of an elk believed to have been shot on private property in the Summer City Road area on Evansville Mountain area of Bledsoe County on the afternoon of Nov. 18. The area is near the Rhea County line on the western side of Bledsoe County.

The TWRA will be offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fatal elk shooting. Rhea County Sheriff Mike Neal will be personally matching the reward, bringing the total to $2,000.
