Amarillo Fire Department responds to structure fire on N. Florida Street

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Amarillo Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire near N. Florida Street and NW 5th Ave.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from the home.

Firefighters completed a 360-degree assessment and entered the structure.

Crews exited shortly after discovering fire burning below them.

A second crew then entered the home and located a staircase leading to the basement.

According to AFD, there was no one inside the home and no injuries were reported.

Officials say the scene remains active.
