A State Department spokesperson had earlier rejected the comments made by a few senators regarding Trump’s peace plan to end the Ukraine war.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Saturday said that the 28-point peace proposal to end the war in Ukraine has been authored by Washington with inputs from the Russian counterparts, despite what a handful of senators said that the peace plan which President Donald Trump is pushing Kyiv to accept is a “wish list” of Moscow and not the actual US plan, Reuters reported.

Clearing the air in a post on X, Rubio wrote, “It is offered as a strong framework for ongoing negotiations. It is based on input from the Russian side. But it is also based on previous and ongoing input from Ukraine.”
