COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A call for a drunk driver reportedly led to a standoff and large law enforcement presence on I-25 Saturday night.
Colorado State Patrol said they got a call of a suspected drunk driver in a red Didge Ram pickup truck around 7:30 p.m. when someone called *CSP. They said they were able to find the truck on I-25 north of Second Street.
Troopers said they pursued the driver when he refused to stop. That driver reportedly rammed into two patrol vehicles, forcing troopers to conduct a Tactical Vehicle Intervention.
Troopers said this led to a short standoff. This created a large scene on I-25 near Rockrimmon, leaving all southbound lanes there shut down for a while and creating a backup in traffic.
