A devastating accident on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway early Sunday morning claimed two lives and left four others injured after a speeding truck lost control, crossed over the central barrier, and overturned onto an oncoming car.

According to highway police, the incident took place around 4 am near Kamshet, on the Pune-bound lane at kilometre 68, close to the Taje petrol pump. The truck, travelling from Pune towards Mumbai, veered out of control, broke through the divider, and entered the opposite lane before crashing directly into a car coming from Mumbai towards Pune.
