New Delhi: India had a tense moment on Day 2 of the second Test in Guwahati, and it had nothing to do with South Africa’s batting. Captain Rishabh Pant, who is usually calm behind the stumps, finally snapped after his side picked up a second stop-clock warning. His frustration was aimed mainly at Kuldeep Yadav, but the message was for everyone on the field to wake up.
The incident unfolded during the 88th over when Kuldeep took long to get going. While the spinner was organising the field, the umpire reminded Pant that India had crossed the 60-second limit again. Pant already annoyed by slow movement from his fielders lost his cool and let his teammates exactly how he felt. As heard on the stump mic he shouted, Yaar, 30 seconds ka timer hai. Ghar pe khel rahe ho kya? Ek ball daal jaldi.
