Worcester MP Collins has come under fire for voting against modifications to the Government's housebuilding reforms.
Green councillors argue that amendments to the Planning and Infrastructure Bill would have bolstered protections for wildlife.
However, the Worcester MP insists that nature must be safeguarded "in a way that really works".
Two amendments were dismissed in the House of Commons on November 13, but campaigners remain hopeful of incorporating more safeguards for protected species, even at this late stage of the bill.

The bill supersedes existing habitat and nature protections, which the Government has suggested are hindering its target to construct 1.5 million houses by the end
