A controversy has broken out over allegations that a Goa police officer verbally abused Russian female tourists - an actress and a celebrity DJ- while the duo were driving with two other women from Siolim to Morjim. They alleged that the policeman used abusive language during the routine check.

A video uploaded by the Russian woman, who goes by the username Krispie_Kristina, alleged that she was riding with her friend Evagenia Belskaia, who is a celebrity DJ, when they were stopped by a male police official. She alleged that the policeman not only used abusive language, but also insulted them by calling them "bitches" and threatening them, saying, "Go back to your country, you don't belong in this country."
