Jammu & Kashmir: GMC Handwara has received the accreditation for the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) program in Emergency Medicine.

With this, the institute has become the first medical college in Jammu and Kashmir to get the accreditation for the course.

Officials informed that the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences ( NBEMS ) has granted accreditation for 10 additional DNB/Diploma seats.

Also, Dr Mir Wasem, the medical college's DNB nodal officer, stated that with these new seats, the total sanctioned capacity has increased to 34. Also Read: GMC Handwara MBBS students protest over lack of hostel facilities

According to a RisingKashmir news report, Dr Mir Waseem said that GMC Handwara has become the first medical college in J&K to be accredited with 4 seats
