Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have broken their silence after both McLaren drivers were disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix .

Norris finished second behind race winner Max Verstappen , while Piastri crossed the line down in fourth. However, their respective cars failed post-race technical checks.

A statement from the FIA confirmed that excessive skid-block wear was the reason behind the disqualification, meaning their result will not count and opening up the title race with just two rounds to go.

Norris now leads Piastri and four-time world champion Verstappen by 24 points ahead of the penultimate race in Qatar this coming week and the season-finale in Abu Dhabi next month.
