The Soo Greyhounds couldn’t overcome a flat opening 20 minutes on Saturday night, falling 4-3 to the visiting London Knights on London native Jeff Carter’s jersey retirement night at GFL Memorial Gardens. Article content Article content
It was the Greyhounds’ second loss to London in six days, after a 3-2 shootout setback last Sunday.
Playing their third game in three days, the Knights struck twice in the first period and built a 4-1 lead early in the third – offering enough cushion to survive a Greyhounds pushback that came too late.
“Tough first period,” winger Marco Mignosa said. “They scored two, and that’s obviously half their goals tonight. A 4-1 hole isn’t ideal.”
