Celebrated Urdu poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz (1911-1984), referencing God, once wrote: “Who is both absent and present.”

Many point out, God is: a divine mystery, beyond space and time, immanent, ingrained in many objects — like nature, etc., inside you and me, omnipresent, outside of the material universe, silence, transcendent, etc. Everything is based in God and God’s apparent hiddenness is His divine plan.

Some are of the view that God’s hiddenness is partial. The absence/presence of God depends upon the relationship of the individual with God.

Religious types insist: Small human mind cannot grasp God as He is inscrutable. Our viewpoint is limited. Hiddenness of God leads to spiritual maturity. Just trust God and pray.
