Jabalpur: The advent of social media has witnessed efforts by many to gain cheap publicity, but things can hardly get as bizarre as this. The police in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, have arrested three members of a ‘girl gang’ – including two minors – on charges of abducting young girls and torturing them, just to go viral on social media.

In fact, it was the videos they uploaded on Instagram that brought about their downfall. The videos showed members of the gang abducting their victims at knifepoint and taking them to isolated places before assaulting and abusing them. ADVERTISEMENT

In one of the clips, one of the accused can be clearly seen smoking on the face of the victim. In another one, she was seen kicking and slapping the victim while abusing her.
