KILLDEER, N.D. — On Wednesday morning, Nov. 19, at Killdeer High School, representatives from the neighboring MHA Nation arrived in traditional regalia to present during the school’s first-ever assembly for cultural awareness.

The MHA Nation comprises three tribes: the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara. MHA Nation is on Fort Berthold, which borders Killdeer, and 85 students in Killdeer’s school district are from the Indigenous community themselves. While Killdeer and MHA nation are neighbors, they have never engaged in a partnership like this before.
