Newark has produced eight NJSIAA sectional champions, sent dozens of student-athletes to Division 1 schools and several to the NFL since the start of the 21st Century.

The immense talent held within its borders has been spread among seven schools in that time, and that’s not to mention the large number of stars who chose top attend local non-public schools at which to showcase their skills and chase scholarships.

And yet, the talent and the dedication and excellence of its coaches still shines through. The Brick City is one of a kind.

It is time to celebrate the stars of the first quarter of this 21st Century by presenting the Newark, N.J., All=Quarter-Century Team.
