Police have today released the name of a man charged with arson following three house fires in a Leicestershire town.
Three people were taken to hospital following the fires in Ashby yesterday, although thankfully did not suffer life changing or life threatening injuries.
Now Karl Poxon, aged 50 and of Holywell Avenue, Ashby, has been charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life as well as a charge of dangerous driving.
He has been remanded into custody to appear before Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday (24 November).
The charges relate to three linked fires in Holywell Avenue, Prestop Drive and Clifton Drive.
The fires prompted a huge emergency service response as smoke could be seen for miles.
