FORT DODGE, Iowa (KCRG) - Part of a building facade in Fort Dodge crumbled to the ground Saturday, leading to road closures and unsafe conditions for pedestrians, KCCI reports.
Video captured by Re/Max of Fort Dodge shows the moment the facade fell to the ground.
The building is located at the corner of 1st Avenue S. and S. 16th Street.
The city of Fort Dodge said stretches of both roads are closed while crews assess damage."
“PEDESTRIANS: Please stay away from this area,” the city’s Facebook post reads. “Falling debris and unstable structural conditions make it extremely unsafe. For your safety, do not walk or attempt to pass through the closure.”
Officials have not said what led to the facade collapsing.
