PALO, Iowa (KCRG) - One person was seriously injured after a crash in rural Palo Saturday.

Authorites said they were called to Covington Road and Chain Bridge Road around 4:00 pm for reports of a single vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, first responders found a silver Kia Rio in the ditch on its roof with one person trapped inside. Another person was able to free themselves.

Afrer investigaiton, authorites said the Kia was heading northbound and failed to navigate a curve on Covington Road. That’s when it lost control, entered the east ditch and rolled several times.

The driver of the car was flown to a local hospital. The passenger refused medical treatment at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
