While there are hints of a winter storm arriving in Minnesota next weekend, there's more certainty about a system that could bring several inches of snow before Thanksgiving.
The National Weather Service says that a shortwave system arriving in the state on Tuesday will coincide with "rapidly cooling" temperatures, which in turn is leading to "a general increase int he potential for snow."
As things stand, the best chances for snow appears to be north of I-94, with chances lower further south including the Twin Cities.
"The blended ensemble guidance is showing remarkably high probability for 24-hr snowfall amounts greater than 3 inches for portions of central and north-central Minnesota, and even some decent chances for 5-6 inches," the NWS Twin Cities said in its forecast discussion.
