ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) - Two bald eagles were spotted perched in a tree in Enfield on Saturday afternoon.
Enfield resident Amanda Beshara sent 22News a photo of the eagles, seen in the area of Weymouth Road and Pheasant Hill Drive at around 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.

The bald eagle, best known as the country's national emblem, has been classified as a threatened species in Connecticut since 2010. Previously classified as endangered, bald eagles have gradually begun to return to the state beginning in the 1990s, due to a reintroduction project in Massachusetts.
In Massachusetts, bald eagles have been listed as a "special concern" species since 2007.
