A three-year-old girl has had the honour of switching on the Christmas lights of a Northumberland village. Residents and visitors alike lined the streets on a cool dry night in Seahouses, after the original switch on had to be postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
Santa swapped the RNLI lifeboat he arrived in last year for a new sled, pulled by a Land Rover defender with reindeers bolted onto the side. He gave presents to local children, including Bobbi Appleby, whose name was plucked from a hat of local children who entered their names at last year's event in an annual Seahouses tradition.
