An Israeli airstrike in Beirut on Tuesday has left one person dead and 21 others injured, marking the first major attack in the city in months since a year-old truce with Hezbollah.
The strike, which targeted what Israel called as a Hezbollah facility, came amid a series of Israeli operations across southern Lebanon. Officials said it was the deadliest attack in the past year since the ceasefire following last year’s Israel-Hezbollah war.
The blast struck a densely populated area in Beirut’s southern suburbs, a district long associated with Hezbollah influence.
